The Friendship Force of Greater Atlanta is made up of people living in the Metro Atlanta area. We gather together throughout the year to strengthen our friendships and to deepen our cultural understanding of people around the world. We do this in a variety of ways:
- By meeting at local ethnic restaurants to experience the food and culture of other countries without leaving home.
- We participate in service projects around Atlanta to give back to our local community and to bring the mission of Friendship Force to our home community
- We host inbound “Journey delegations” of people from around the world and across the US, planning a weeklong program of sharing our local southern culture with people who arrive as strangers and leave as friends.
- We travel together on outbound Journeys to experience day-to-day life of Friendship Force members in different countries.
As an officially chartered Friendship Force club, we are part of the worldwide network of clubs that make up the world of Friendship Force. Volunteer Club Board Members meet monthly to provide guidance and oversight to our local club. Committee members give of their time to plan activities for our local members, serve as Journey Coordinators for inbound and outbound Journey programs, reach out to new members, and write our newsletters. There are plenty of ways to become involved with The Friendship Force of Greater Atlanta.
